Lukas Smart, Managing Director, is the Head of U.S. iShares Sustainable and Factor Strategies. His cross-functional teams are responsible for factor and sustainable distribution strategy, product innovation, thought leadership, and supporting client engagement for both institutional and wealth investors.


Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Smart was a Senior Portfolio Manager, Vice President, and Head of the U.S. Large Cap Desk at Dimensional Fund Advisors. There, he was responsible for the investment of Dimensional's U.S. invested and domiciled factor and sustainable strategies as well as representing the firm in client engagements.


Mr. Smart earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of San Diego, and an MBA in Analytic Finance, Economics, and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
