Head of iShares Americas at BlackRock

Armando Senra, Managing Director, is Head of iShares Americas, and a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee, EII's Management Committee and Americas Executive Committee. He serves as president of the iShares Board, chairs the iShares Americas Executive Committee, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Americas Society/Council of the Americas and 100 Women in Finance.

 

In his current role, Armando is focused on unlocking growth and innovation for iShares – from investing in sustainability to fixed income to new client segments. Armando’s expertise in investing is focused on his drive for the unconventional, reflected through his global work and leadership at iShares. Prior to his current role with the firm, Armando was most recently the Head of Latin America and Iberia, responsible for all business activities in markets across the region.

Armando’s service with the firm dates back to 1994, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. Throughout his career, Armando has held a number of leadership roles worldwide, including Head of Institutional and Wealth Business Latin America & Iberia, Country Head of Iberia, Head of MLIM's International Global Wealth Management Business, and Director of MLIM's Private Investor Business.

 

He graduated from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain with a dual bachelor’s degree in business management & economics.
